Charles Leclerc has confessed the GP and the celebrations that followed surpassed his childhood dreams all, using Ferrari hero hailed as a’national treasure’ after his stunning success.
Leclerc was roared on throughout his epic drive in Ferrari’s home race after a huge twist of humor upon the flag, the 21-year-old was greeted by a sea of crimson and the famed Tifosi since he stepped onto the podium since the Scuderia’s original Monza race-winner since 2010.
Leclerc, a brand new Ferrari fan from age five, grew up dreaming of races from crimson – but nothing prepared him for this.
“It’s gone past all of the dreams I had as a youngster,” said Leclerc. “To see all the people for one group, singing completely – it is awesome.
“I’ve never been around a podium with so many people beneath it and to understand that the entire straight was full of folks – 99 percent reddish – it was great to see. Hearing them singing… there was only a lot of feelings”
Leclerc has been heralded together with the youngster as Lewis Hamilton, and then Valtteri Bottas, threw everything in the pole-sitter to find past withstanding a Mercedes barrage.
Even Mercedes boss Toto Wolff insisted:”Ferrari have an impending great.”
Leclerc admitted his defence against Hamilton was”very on the limit”, but also that he’d do anything to never let this chance pass. There is on top of the podium in front of the Tifosi A Ferrari driver one of F1′s excellent scenes, also Leclerc understandably found it difficult to stay concentrated in the final stages of this race.
“On the last two laps I began to see in the grandstand there was rather a great deal of agitation, which all the fans were jumping,” he explained.
“So yeah, I was telling myself’quit taking a look at the grandstand, examine the track, concentrate on what you are doing as a motorist and after that you can enjoy whatever there is outside.’
“But it had been rather difficult to remain focused on driving, watching just how much motion there was at the grandstand.”
Leclerc added to Sky F1:”It’s the very first time in my career that I actually examine the grandstand when forcing, which is generally not so great but I simply had no alternative.
“They were just jumping and cheering all race long, it was amazing to see. Simply to triumph here seems very, very special.”
The Ferrari victory of leclerc did earn praise from fans, drivers and team directors – but also from the newspapers on Monday of Italy.

Corriere dello Sport crowned’king’ Leclerc, while claiming the Leclerc age had begun.
Leclerc became the second-youngest driver at Ferrari’s history when he joined this season following a dazzling rookie season in F1 and stated wins like Monza showed he was”more prepared than some folks thought”.
“It’s been an easy start to the summer, there’s been a few errors,” he told reporters on Sunday night. “But I think I have grown.
“I understood the critics of last year, me too young. Year in Ferrari and also in Formula 1 was for certain.
“I thank Ferrari for believing me. I am really pleased to have these sort of results to show that I was more ready than some people believed.
